The leader of the left is spreading uncertainty and fear with his people in order to intimidate right-wing voters. We have never experienced such an aggressive style in public life as the one Péter Magyar has now introduced. I understand if many people feel concerned about what they encounter on the internet and on various forums, which is precisely why we must not take the Brussels path.
Since 2010, Viktor Orbán has been working tirelessly for Hungary’s peace and security. This is what a responsible leader looks like — someone who follows the Hungarian path, who protects our achievements even in the most difficult times, and who keeps us out of a meaningless war. Only we can guarantee this, which is why Fidesz is the safe choice.
The true face of both communities — or at least of their leaders — is becoming visible. I believe this is very important, because it is under pressure that the real character of a person and a community is revealed. It is astonishing how much hateful rhetoric we have heard recently from supporters of Tisza. Whether it concerns the case of a deceased television announcer, or sending people with serious criminal records to provoke and intimidate participants at a Fidesz event — these are deeply troubling developments.
Meanwhile, on the other side, we are here — and we are strong. This is also what the Prime Minister said: we are strong. All of us share a belief that what we are doing is not self-serving, but something that goes beyond us. We fight and we struggle not in four-year cycles, but with a longer perspective — because we are thinking about our children, our grandchildren, and the next generation. No matter how pathetically it may sound, at the heart of the politics we pursue — which places families at the forefront instead of financial interests or Brussels priorities — this is what truly defines us.
