According to a Ukrainian analyst (who has appeared several times on Telex), it must be said openly that it is in Ukraine’s interest for the Tisza party to win, because Péter Magyar supports Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
They see this clearly — and so do we.
They would not be able to say no to Brussels, and Ukraine would already be on our necks next year.
We, however, are able to say no — just as Hungarians have clearly said no to Ukraine’s EU membership in the VOKS2025 vote.
That is why Fidesz is the safe choice.
Take a look at what a Ukrainian analyst says about what would truly be good for Ukraine. He says that it would be a Tisza government, a government led by Péter Magyar. We believe that this would by no means be good for Hungary. It may be good for Ukraine, but our task is to represent the interests of the Hungarian people, not those of Ukrainians.
We do not want Ukraine, through a forced fast-track accession, to become a member of the European Union as early as 2027 — that is, next year. On the one hand, this would have terrible economic consequences; on the other hand, it would mean importing the war together with Ukraine into the European Union.
So I say to everyone: you don’t need to listen to Fidesz politicians — listen to the words of this Ukrainian analyst, and then decide in April.
In Ukraine, they clearly see that a Tisza government led by Péter Magyar would be their gateway into the EU. We, on the other hand, currently represent the barrier — and this will remain so as long as we are in government. Until then, nothing will happen that is not in the interest of the Hungarian people.
🔴 1️⃣ “According to a Ukrainian analyst” – instrumentalizing external authority
Technique: appeal to foreign authority + cherry-picking
“According to a Ukrainian analyst (who has appeared several times on Telex)…”
❌ Not specified:
- their name
- the exact quote
- the context
- whether this is analysis, opinion, or political preference
📌 The trick:
What matters is not the analyst’s credibility, but their origin:
“a Ukrainian says it → it must be good for Ukraine → therefore bad for us”
This is not an argument, but an emotional compass.
🔴 2️⃣ Ukraine’s interest = working against Hungary
Technique: zero-sum framing (what’s good for them is bad for us)
“It is in Ukraine’s interest for Tisza to win…”
📌 Embedded message:
- if you vote for Tisza → you serve foreign interests
- domestic political debate → reframed as a national security issue
This is classic loyalty framing:
“You’re either with us – or against us.”
🔴 3️⃣ “They wouldn’t be able to say no to Brussels”
Technique: mind-reading + inevitability narrative
“They wouldn’t be able to say no to Brussels…”
❌ There is no:
- decision
- vote
- document
- concrete commitment
📌 This is prediction, not fact.
The goal:
👉 to strip people of the sense of control over the future
👉 “if they come to power → there’s no stopping it”
🔴 4️⃣ “Ukraine would already be on our necks next year”
Technique: fear acceleration + temporal compression
This distorts reality on multiple levels:
- EU accession is not a fast-track sprint
- there is no “next year”
- there is no automatic import of war
📌 But in communication terms:
- fast
- frightening
- irreversible
This is panic production, not information.
🔴 5️⃣ VOKS2025 – pseudo popular mandate
Technique: manufactured consent + false mandate
“Hungarians have clearly said no…”
📌 Problems:
- not legally binding
- not representative
- a political campaign tool
👉 Yet it is framed as if:
“the nation has already decided – anyone who disagrees is going against the people”
This is a debate-closing device, not a democratic argument.
🔴 6️⃣ “Listen to the Ukrainian analyst – and then decide”
Technique: pseudo-pluralism (fake openness)
This is the most cynical part.
On the surface:
“don’t listen to Fidesz politicians”
In reality:
- only one, pre-interpreted narrative is allowed
- the conclusion is predefined
This is guided thinking, not choice.
🔴 7️⃣ “We are the barrier” – savior role
Technique: savior framing + existential dependency
“We represent the barrier…”
📌 Message:
- without us → catastrophe
- with us → nothing bad can happen
This is not governance, but a dependency narrative.
🧩 SUMMARY – WHAT IS THIS, OVERALL?
This message simultaneously:
- 🇺🇦 points to an external enemy
- 🧠 accelerates fear
- 🗳 shuts down democratic debate
- 🧱 presents itself as the only protective wall
👉 It is not about what is good for Hungary.
👉 It is about ensuring that there is no alternative.
